It hasn’t been really fashionable in a long time. We really do make chicken salad an injustice if we just demonize it as an unhealthy calorie bomb. Because there is another way. Exotic chicken salad from my grandmother’s recipe book is incredibly tasty – and not greasy.

If you want to do it especially well – as my grandmother did then – you should boil a whole chicken (preferably chicken on corn). Because then you will not only get the perfect meat for a salad, but also get a delicious broth – for example, as a basis for a delicious chicken soup.

But if you do not have time, we recommend a simple trick: buy ready-made fried chicken, which is often found in supermarket carts. Fried flavors give your salad a special taste. It is very tasty!

You need it

250 g Miracle Whip, 30 g tangerine juice from squeezed fruit, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 450-500 g chicken (sliced ​​1-2 cm), 150 g dried canned or canned mushrooms, chopped or small whole 0 grams of canned food, 1 g of asparagus in jars (cut into pieces 1-2 centimeters long), 100 grams of celery (peeled and cut into strips), 100 grams of drained canned tangerines (cut in half), 100 grams of cherries in jars.

Here’s how it’s done

Place the Miracle Whip in a bowl. Then pour a glass of tangerine and lemon juice, twist it and shake vigorously. The juice mixture is now also in the bowl. Mix everything thoroughly and season with salt and pepper. Don’t be too careful with seasonings!

Now gradually add all the mentioned ingredients to the sauce. Please mix the ingredients thoroughly and only with a plastic spoon or even a silicone spatula. The ingredients should not be too soft.

Then put the salad in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours and let it harden. It may be a few more hours. The salad is stored well chilled for about two days. Be sure to stir before serving.
