Landslide in Tirolerstrasse area
Due to the heavy rainfall, a landslide occurred in a short time on the Tiroler Straße near Zirl (Innsbruck-Land district). Kössener Straße was also moved after the landslide.
Around 6:45 p.m., heavy rain alternated with hail in Zirla. Between Zirl and the village of Eigenhofen, the slope began to slide and brought the Tyrolean federal highway B171 to the level of the substation. Schlossbach in Zirla also noticeably swelled. The main road had to be closed, according to current information, no one was injured.
White fields in Leyten
The hail was not only in Zirl, but also in Leiten, which belongs to Reith bei Seefeld. Small mudflows formed here, and the fields were white because they were covered by hail.
A landslide was also reported near St. Johann in Tyrol in the lowlands. Kössener Strasse is currently closed.
On Friday morning, we inspect the slope, then decide how to proceed.
