Our One Pot Chicken and Smoked Sausage Rice is a complete update to the classic. You’ve never had chicken rice like this before.
One chicken rice always works. Sometimes there is a way that makes dishes even easier to prepare and even richer in taste. You know chicken rice, but you’ve never had it like this.
Ingredients for 4 servings:
4 chicken thighs
4 sticks of celery
1 vegetable onion
2 carrots
1 liter of water
4 cloves of garlic
2 bay leaves
60 grams of butter
1 ring or 300 g of smoked sausage, e.g. B. Krakower
1 bulb
200 g of long-grain rice
pepper and salt
And here’s how it’s done:
Put the chicken thighs in a deep pan. Pick the celery greens and set aside. Finely chop the celery, carrot and onion and add to the chicken. Add water until everything is covered.
Add whole cloves of garlic, bay leaf, pepper and salt and simmer for about 60 minutes.
When the time is up, remove the chicken thighs from the pan and set aside. Leave to cool for a while. Strain the broth through a sieve into a bowl. Cut the onion into small cubes.
Melt the butter in a saucepan and briefly fry the onion with the rice. Cut the sausage into 1 cm thick slices, add and let it color a little. Pour in the broth and simmer over low heat for about 15-20 minutes until the rice is ready. Add a little water if needed.
Finally, add the chicken and celery and serve immediately.
