Winter is a cold season. And even if we haven’t had a very cold winter with a lot of snow so far, the gray, dirty weather is causing numerous colds here and there, even apart from the Corona wave. If you want to manage your symptoms with some old home remedies, we highly recommend chicken soup. Here is a recipe that my grandmother swore by when she had a cold.

ingredients for Chicken soup for a cold

You need: 1 small soup chicken, 1 bunch of soup greens, 2 carrots, 1 leek, 300 g of noodles (for example, mussels), salt, pepper, 2 bay leaves, parsley (to taste)

This is how to prepare chicken soup for a cold

Here’s how it’s done: Wash the soup chicken thoroughly and place in a large pot. Fill the pot with water to just cover the chicken soup. Generously salt. Boil and cook for an hour.

Meanwhile, wash and finely chop the greens for the soup. Chop the parsley. Add greens and bay leaves to the pan and simmer for another hour.

Remove the chicken from the soup and place on a plate. Pour the broth through a sieve and strain. Add soup noodles. Finely chop the carrot, and the leek into rings, add to the broth and let the soup boil for 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, disassemble the chicken: remove the skin and meat from the bone. cut the meat Add to soup. Season to taste with salt, pepper and parsley.
